Wrongs of Passage

1. Yes i believe in rites of passage. It separated people from adult hood, and keep the young and old different, not just some jumbled group.Rights of passage are necessary in a community for people to be looked upon with respect... without it we would not know who are adults of who are children, because we would be the same.

2. I think one big right of passage that i went through is getting my driver licence. It not because i can drive.... it because what the driving gives me. it give me independence. independence is highly valued in our community as a hole.... if we can do stuff by our self we are more responsible, and therefore more independent, and able to do this for ourselves. It not very easy to obtain our licences though. We have to sit though classes and have to do hours of behind the wheel viewing other people dive, so we don't mess up when we finely get our licence. we also have to pass 2 tests. The writing and the driving test. I passed my driving test with minus 0 points. I am proud of that. I am also glad that i have my independence.

Jane Eyre Reflection

here we go

1. I would stay with him... even though its kinda odd saying that...... Rochester really shows his love to her, and seems like a nice guy most of the time. She would be set for life if she stayed with him... its prolly best for her well being to stay with him.... i believe that if she would have stayed with him they would of had a nice relationship, and have a nice family. Jane would be a great mother i think.

2.Meh the book was ok..... the reading went way to slow, sooo its takes forever to read, that one reason why i would not want to read this book. At first when i read it i could barely get what was being said because the way it was written. After hearing it a bit, and they was stuff was being said i really was able to get it, and now i can understand it without  any problem.... its kinda weird thinking about it, on how i was unable to understand it, the going to being able to understand it perfectly.

3. I Think because of the challenging way it was written it should be. It is a hard read, and it teaches students to be able to read the hard text, and get what is being said, no matter what context it is in.

The Heroic Journey

Well i was quite interested in what was said in class about this type of writing. I never really relized that almost every single book that enjoy have this same format.

Now things might be mixed up a little, and a little different, but almost every single one of my favorite books is based off this.... So soo odd to think that all of these books, which to me seem like completely different book, could have the same outline. So what is your favorite book? Dose it have this same outline?

A couple of my favorate books i shall name:

The Hunger Games

Eragon

The Sight

Fell

All the Guardians of Ga'Hoole books (all 15 XD)

Wolves of the Beyond

I now that i think about it i cant really think of any other books without this outline. This outlines really just what catches everyone's eyes i guess...... no one realizes its the same book.... almost

Jane Eyre: Grace Poole questions

Soo... we have heard all about this Grace Poole... but it seem we don't have as much information as we would like.... Its all one big mystery.

Now i have a few questions:
What are your guys ideas what her?

Why do oyu think that she was hired?

Were is she from?

Dose she have some sort of problem? We have discussed this in class but its still a unanswered question...

Now what do i think of her? idk... i think that she dose have some sort of problem.. but i have no idea what it is... why was she hired here if shes this odd person? I don't know... shes a tricking character to crack..... throw out you opinions people!!!!

A Vision Into the Past

Well we have our first nice chunk of Jane Eyre done.....

As people have prolly seen from people that had this class earlyer, many people said that this was the worst book of the class.....

I disagree

I am accuracy enjoying Jane Eyre much more that i did with Holden in Catcher in the Rye. The main reason is because i see like into the past with this book. I have been interested in reading parts of the bible, not because im a religious person, because i am not, but wit this book you get to see a realistic vision into the past, which i greatly enjoy. I love see how people lived in the past. Its interesting to me, and in this book i giving me that view, because it was  written in that time frame, not a book wrote in the 1900's, based in the 1800's.

Holden

Soooo, the part I'm choosing is the part holden goes and sees his teacher, old spencer. I found this quite odd because holdens mind kinda changed during it. Like during the other parts of the books he has a less happy, or i mean like less nice during most of the book, but once he talking to spencer he have a nicer, and more respected tone, even though he still used his swearing, he really showed that he respected his teacher. I had a different tone when talking to him compared to when he talked about other things or to other people. he kinda had this same tone, at the begining when he talked about his parents and brother. The way it was wrote its showed he respected his bother and parents, even if he dose not like it. i choose this seen because it stood out to me n the way holden was talking. The point i think that the writer is trying to get across  is that even though sometimes teenagers disrespect the people of authority, at times there is that sense of respect, and obeying the rules when it come to people they should look up to, or people with more authority than them.

Childhood: What is it?

1. Well childhood is a very interesting phase. it can and is viewed in many ways. In the story's we have read the authors take different parts of child hood and take there views on it, but make the message they are trying to say hidden. The story's are all related to childhood, make them similar, but they are different in what they are talking about.... Each story also has the child's struggle with the adult world, giving each story a sence of the child being older. i believe they do get what it mean to be a child, in there own way though.

2. A Christmas Story. This movie follows a young childs struggle to get  BB gun, and during it many odd thing happen to him. This movie shows, in a odd and interesting way, what it means to be a child, and what a child thinks about. It also has a child's insight on how they view the adult world. The main story of this movie is just a child's struggle to get something he wants. I don't think this is like the story we read because the movie is a lot more... how should i say it... happy go Lucky. They story's were much more in depth, and dark, compared to the movie.
